August 15, 1925 – February 14, 2024
Mary Lou Cino, 98, a longtime resident of Carbondale's West Side, died Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at home with her daughter and devoted caregiver, Mary Theresa by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Cino, Sr. on July 5, 2001.
Born August 15, 1925 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Horvath Bistransky.
Mary Lou was formerly employed at the Gentex Corporation, Simpson, and later retired from the maintenance department of the Carbondale Area School District. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. Mary Lou will be fondly remembered for the delicious meals she lovingly prepared for her family, her joy of traveling and sitting on her front porch enjoying warm summer days.

She is survived by three children: Mary Theresa Escott and husband, David of Carbondale, PA, Joseph Cino, Jr. and wife, Jody of Simpson, PA and James Cino and wife, Patty of Union Dale, PA; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister: Kathy Trigo; one brother: Robert Bistransky; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Kathleen Cobb; four brothers, Joseph, Bernard, Daniel and Francis Bistransky; and three sisters: Margaret Yuran, Genevieve Pedziwiatr and Agnes Revnoc.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Seth Wasnock, pastor. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: Joshua Cino, Christopher Cino, Domenick Cino, Joseph McAndrew, Brian Prince and Stanley Sorey.
