Mary L. Lopes, 88, a resident of the Carbondale Nursing Home, Carbondale, PA., and formerly of Main Street, Childs, PA., died Tuesday morning, July 8, 2008 at the nursing home. She was the wife of Paul F. Lopes, who died May 19, 1972. Born October 5, 1919 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Penzone) Caudullo. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a file clerk in the Scranton office of State Workmens Fund. She is survived by one daughter: Terri Lopes of Jermyn, PA.; two sisters: Janet Cavalier of Carbondale, PA. and Ann Noto of Clarks Summit, PA.; one brother: Anthony Caudullo of Carbondale, PA.; Many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Sebastian Jada and Victor Caudullo; one sister: Rose Delfino. The funeral was held Friday, July 11, 2008 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by the Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Thursday, July 10, 2008 from 6-8 PM. Pallbearers: John Delfino, Jack Delfino, Mike Caudullo, Tony Caudullo, John DeMark, Jr., and David Hastings.
