Mary Anne Liuzzo, 67, of Simpson, PA., died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA., after a lenghty illness. Born January 26, 1941 in Simpson, PA., She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Yanchek) Rusnak.She was a graduate of the Fell High School and was a member of Holy Trinity/St. Michael's Church in Simpson. Prior to her disability, she had been employed by Daystrom in Eynon, PA., Gentex in Simpson and G W Instruments in Carbondale, PA. She loved playing bingo, going to the casino's, trips to Ocean City, Maryland and listening to Elvis Presley. But most of all she just loved spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by three sons: Thomas Liuzzo and wife Gretchen of Simpson, PA., Mark Liuzzo and wife Lisa of Carbondale, PA. and Samuel Liuzzo and wife Jaclyn of Greenfield Township, PA.; two daughters: Teresa Morris and husband Dale of Largo, FL. and Lisa Carachilo and husband David of Scranton, PA.; one brother: Bernard Rusnak of Simpson, PA.; two sisters: Margaret Enright of Greenfield Township, PA. and Sophie Kernoschak of Simpson, PA.; sixgrandchildren: Ronald Armstrong, Jr., Damon, Hilary, Kayley, Kamryn and Olivia Liuzzo; her former husband: Thomas Liuzzo of Gouldsboro, PA.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by one brother: John RusnakThe funeral was held Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc, Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Michael's Church, 46 Midland Street, Simpson, celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Sitko, pastor of St. Michael's Church, Simpson, Rev. Phillip Sladicka, pastor of St. Mary's Church, Avoca, PA. and Rev. Hilary Malinowski, former pastor of St. Michael's Church, Simpson. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Ron Armstrong, Damon Liuzzo, Jeffrey Liuzzo, Thomas Liuzzo, James Kernoschak, Anthony Rusnak, Mark Roche and Jeffrey Fortuner. Friends called Monday, January 5, 2009 from 4-8 PM.
