Mary Ann T. (Red) Gentile, 66, of Carbondale, PA., died early Wednesday morning, September 1, 2010 at the Ascera Care Hospice, Peckville, PA. Born March 21, 1944 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Chris and Marie (Cerra) Gentile and the step daughter of the late Teresa Gentile. She was a 1961 graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and had been employed for 32 years at the Gentex Corporation in Simpson, PA. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. She is survived by one sister: Madeline Nault of Carbondale, PA.; one step brother: Bruno Scavo of Oneonta, NY.; one step sister: Felicia Lynd of Oneonta, NY.; two cousins: Celia McDonnell and Anthony Leo both of Carbondale, PA. She was preceded in death by one son: Joseph Moran; an aunt: Carmella Leo; two cousins: Clara Scavo and Jane Pascoe; her longtime companion: Dominic Carachilo. The funeral was held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale. Cremation followed the mass. Inurnment, parish cemetery, Carbondale. Friends called Friday, September 3, 2010 from 5-8 PM.
