Mary Gowan Engelhardt, 73, of Bethlehem, PA. and formerly of Union, NJ., died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA. She is survived by her husband, Norman Engelhardt, Born in Scranton, PA., she was the daughter of the late Clement and Mary (Hospidor) Gowan. She was a graduate of East Orange High School in New Jersey and had served in the Air Force. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as an administrative assistant at Kean College in New Jersey. She is survived by one son: Chip Shaw of Rome, GA. She was preceded in death by one son: Terry; one brother: Robert Gowan. As per her request she was cremated. Mary expresses a loving farewell to all her friends, God Bless. Cremation arrangements were conducted by the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
