Mary J. Dzwonczyk, 100, of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Carbondale Nursing Home with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Dzwonczyk on January 2, 1996.

Born June 23, 1922 in Carbondale, PA, and was the last surviving child of the late Anthony and Theresa Costanzo Trunzo.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale.

She is survived by one son: Nicholas Dzwonczyk and wife, Mary of Mayfield, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers: Thomas, Russell, Carmen, Andrew and Dominick "Jim" Trunzo and two sisters: Antoinette Tancredo and Jeanette Pauswinski.

The funeral was held Thursday, May 11, 2023 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Seth Wasnock, pastor. Interment, St. John Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Mayfield, PA.

Pallbearers: Nicholas Dzwonczyk, James Trunzo, Frank Tancredo, James Tancredo, Jonathan Terry and Benjamin Terry.

Viewing hours were held Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 5-7 p.m.
