Mary June Brennan, 90, of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center, Blakely, PA. She was the wife of the late Charles "Killer" Brennan, who died on January 29, 1986. Born June 20, 1928 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace O'Byrne Platzer. She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, class of 1946, and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She worked in sales at Sugerman's and Burlington Coat Factory, both of Eynon. She and her husband lived in Levittown where they raised their children and in 1991 June moved back home. She is survived by four children: Patricia Ferrante of Yardley, PA and Colleen Jenkins and husband Arthur of Moscow Mills, MO, Michael Brennan and wife Ann Marie of Jessup, PA and Timothy Brennan and wife Kristina of Carbondale Township, PA, seven grandchildren: Michele, Gina, Artie, Brian, Shannon, Marissa and Michael; several great grandchildren; one sister: Sharon Sadusky of Carbondale, PA and a brother-in-law: Marty Kilhullen of AZ. She was also preceded in death by one sister: Shirley Kilhullen; one brother: Robert Platzer; and a brother-in-law: Joseph "Stogie" Sadusky, Jr. The funeral was held Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. James Price, C.P., pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Michael Brennan, Arthur Jenkins, Sharif Shafik and Michael Brennan. Friends called Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were made in June's name to Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL, 60601.
