Obituary

Martin E. Sparky Jennings, age 73, of Dundaff, PA., died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, October 17, 2005 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. His wife is the former Wilda Price. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 25, 2004. Born April 20, 1932 in Danbury, CT., he was the son of the late Roy and Harriet Dean Jennings. He was a member of the Clifford United Methodist Church. He was an Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a service officer at the Elk Mountain VFW Post 8488 in Lenox where he has been a member for 20 years. He was a charter member of the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company. He was a truck driver for 40 years and loved and took great pride in his job. He was also a Clifford Township Cop for many years and a County Committeeman. He was an avid hunter in his younger years. He loved country music especially Patsy Cline and watching old western movies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved spending time with his grandchildren and will be dearly missed. He is survived by three daughters: Yvonne husband Dino Magistro of Carbondale, PA., Doreen husband James Mancuso of Dundaff, PA. Binghamton, NY. and Holly Jo husband Brian Widzon of Archbald, PA.; two sons: Wayne Jennings of Binghamton, NY. and Dale wife Debbie Jennings of Dundaff, PA.; two sisters: Mabel Fenton of Montrose, PA. and Mildred Gummoe of Pompano Beach, FL.; two brothers: Kenneth Sparks of Susquehanna, PA. and Lewis Sparks of New Milford, PA.; five grandsons: Mark, Michael Joshua Dilts and Gregory Brian, Jr. Widzon; Several Nieces Nephews The funeral was held Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with Pastor Peg Knapich, rector of the Clifford United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Gelatt Cemetery, Gelatt, PA. Friends called Wednesday, October 19, 2005 from 2-4 7-9 PM. Pallbearers: Dale Jennings (Son), Mark, Joshua and Michael Dilts, Brian and Greg Widzon (Grandsons), Dino Magistro and James Mancuso (Son-in-Laws). Military Service and Honor Guard provided by the Elk Mountain VFW Post 8488.
