Martha A. Peterka, 48, of Clifford Township, PA., died Monday, May 2, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on I380 in Clifton Township, PA. She was the wife of Bernard Peterka.
Born in Tucson, AZ., she was the daughter of Chester Oscarson of Gainesville, FL. and the late Frances Price Oscarson.
She was a graduate of Mt. View High School, Kingsley, PA., and had been employed as a medical assistant for the Wright Center for Primary Care in Jermyn, PA., and worked part time as a tax preparer for HR Block in Carbondale, PA.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Honesdale, PA. She was a leader for the Susquehanna County 4H Club. She loved her farm animals as well as training and riding horses. She also enjoyed doing crafts, puzzles and being on the computer. Nothing in life gave her more joy than being a mother, raising her family and helping others.
She is survived by six children: Brian, Aaron, Justin, Allan and Brooke Peterka all at home and Amber Peterka of Union Beach, NJ.; five siblings: Ellen Gardner and Gregory Oscarson both of Orlando, FL., Niles and Andy Oscarson both of Gainesville, FL. and Nathan Oscarson of Herrick Twp., PA.; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral was held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10:00 AM from the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 111 Old Salem Pike, Honesdale, PA. Interment, Lyon Street Cemetery, Union Dale, PA.
Pallbearers: Richard Peterka, Robert Peterka, John Peterka, Jason Peterka, Larry Bean, Gabe Gardner and David Gardner.
