Obituary

Marlene Caudullo, age 78, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA., died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Regional Hospital of Scranton, PA. She is the wife of 59 years to Anthony S. Caudullo. Born July 23, 1933 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Martin and Anastasia (Nimchick) Rotko. She was a 1951 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and owned and operated Happy Trails Travel Agency in Carbondale for many years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield, PA. She was also a member of the Ladies Professional Business Club and the Red Hats Society. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Salvatore Scialla and the 8th floor staff at the Regional Hospital of Scranton for their kind and compassionate care to Marlene. She is survived by two sons: Anthony C. Caudullo and wife Jean of Browndale, PA. and Michael A. Caudullo of Carbondale, PA.; five grandchildren: Kathryn of Browndale, PA., Laura of Pleasant Mount, PA., Joseph of Clifford Township, PA., Melissa of Forest City, PA. and Madison of Carbondale, PA.; two great grandchildren: Onyella and Stella; one sister: Dolores Lawn of East Earl, PA.; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother: Paul Rotko. The funeral was held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 9:30 AM from St. John The Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 706 Hill Street, Mayfield, celebrated by the Very Reverend Mitred Archpriest John Sorochka, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Richard Karp, William Hetherson, John Defino, John Delfino, III., Joseph McAndrew and Greg Williams. Friends called Friday, March 16, 2012 from 5-8 PM at the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale. Parastas was held at 5:00 PM and transferal to the church took place at 8:00 PM on Friday, March 16, 2012.
