Marion G. Wargo, 89, of Clifford Township, PA, died Wednesday night, March 22, 2017 at the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest city, PA. Her husband, Richard "Dick" Wargo, died on January 16, 1996. Born March 19, 1928 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Byron, Sr. and Mary Chapman Gummoe Marion was a graduate of Harford High School, Harford, PA, and later became a secretary at the Methodist Board of Missions in New York City. She had been employed as an inspector at the Bendix Corporation in South Montrose, PA, and retired as a seamstress from the Clifford Dress Factory, Clifford, PA. She was a member of the Clifford United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and a quilting club made up of several friends. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting. She is survived by two sisters: Ethel Ward of Scranton, PA and Carol Roth and husband Stephen of Clifford Township, PA; two brothers: Byron Gummoe and wife Fran of Tunkhannock, PA and Gerald Gummoe of Florida; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Betty Cottrell. The funeral was held Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Pastor Eric Watkins, officiating.
