Marion I. Katchmore, age 85, of the Forest City Personal Care Home, Forest City, PA., and formerly of Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA., died late Sunday evening, July 10, 2005 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She was the wife of the late John Katchmore who died March 17, 1953.
Born March 13, 1920 in Carbondale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Vadala) Campolo.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. She worked many years for her cousin Pat and wife Arlene Vadala at PA Dress Factory, Carbondale. She also worked at the Ames Department Store, Carbondale and Sugermans Department Store, Eynon, PA. Marion was well known for selling Avon Products in the Carbondale area for over 30 years. She also sold Sarah Conventry Jewelry.
While in the personal care home, Ma loved to play bingo and get her weekly manicure. Ma was also known for her firm beliefs in God. She was involved with the Boy Scouts and many church auxilliaries.
During her stay at the Forest City Personal Care Home, she made many friends that will miss her.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her grandchildren very much and will be dearly missed by her family.
She is survived by one daughter: Mary Ann husband Santo Cerminaro of Carbondale, PA.; three sons: John Sonny Katchmore of Hallstead, PA., Daniel Katchmore of Old Forge, PA. and Alan Katchmore of Carbondale, PA.; two sisters: Carmellita Raimondi of Bloomfield, NJ. and Stella Tomsky of Simpson, PA.; 6 Grandsons: James DeGrazia, Robert DeGrazia, Jonathan Katchmore, Jeffrey Katchmore, Brian Katchmore and Eric Katchmore; 7 Granddaughters: Diane Harrity, Dawn Quinn, Laura Vito, Shirley Katchmore, Jennifer Katchmore, Rosemary Katchmore and Danielle Angeloni; 15 Great Grand Children; 1 Great Great Grandchild; Several Nieces Nephews
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Rosella Fair and Rita Gioseffi; four brothers: Santo, Eugene, Patrick and Joseph Campolo
The funeral was held Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 10:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor. Interment, parish cemetery, Carbondale.
Friends called Wednesday, July 13, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm.
