Marietta (Clause) Fazio, age 97, of Carbondale, PA. died Friday evening, April 29, 2005 after a short illness. She was the wife of the late James Fazio, Sr., who died October 20, 1965.
Born June 10, 1907 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Tolerico) Clause.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of Business School in Scranton.
Before her retirement at the age of 82, she worked as a seamstress.
She was a loving mother and a very religious person who went to mass almost every day.
She is survived by one son: James Fazio, Jr. and his wife B.J. (Elizabeth) of Carbondale, PA., who is also a former employee of the Scranton Times; 6 Grandchildren; 2 Step Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; 4 Step Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Marietta Martino; three brothers: Vero, James and Albert Clause; three sisters: Lena Garrantano, Ida Kelly, and Marietta, who died at birth
The funeral was held Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at 9:00am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Friends called Monday, May 2, 2005 from 2-4 7-9 PM.
