Marian E. Mazza, age 73, of Carbondale, PA., died early Tuesday morning, April 17, 2012 at the Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, NY., while visiting her daughter.
Born August 20, 1938 in Scranton, PA., she was the daughter of the late Donald and Margaret (Walsh) Martin.
She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. She started her career as a teller at the former Northeastern Bank and retired from the Jermyn Bank. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and also volunteered at the Carbondale Public Library.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family.
She is survived by one daughter: Anne Siler and husband Stephen of West Seneca, NY.; two grandsons: Nicholas and Benjamin Siler, both of West Seneca, NY.; one sister: Teresa McDonnell of Buffalo , NY.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother: Edward Martin; one sister: Margaret Martin.
The funeral was held Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 8:45 AM from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA.
Pallbearers: Stephen Siler, William Quinn, Ryan Libby, David Cerra and Andrew Cerra, Jr. Friends called Friday, April 20, 2012 from 4-8 PM.
