Margaret A. Peggy Tancredo, of Carbondale, PA. died Easter Sunday morning, March 27, 2005 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. She was the wife of James C. Tancredo.
Born April 25, 1941 in Carbondale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Loftus) Ruddy.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale. She was a 1959 graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale. She also graduated from Our Lady of Victory School of Nursing in Buffalo, New York.
She worked for many years at the Carbondale General Hospital and the Forest City Nursing Home. Currently she was doing home health care.
She also belonged to various social groups and enjoyed spending time outside walking with her black labador and bird feeding.
She gave a courageous battle from surgery that she had at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York.
She is survived by one son: James J. Tancredo of Carbondale, PA.; two sisters: Mary husband Richard Ruggiero and Barbara husband Peter Solomon both of Carbondale, PA.; four brothers: Bill wife Janet Ruddy of Holly Hills, FL., Gene Ruddy of Daytona, FL., Tom wife Debbie Ruddy of Carbondale, PA. and Joe Butch wife Louise Ruddy of Port Jefferson, NY.; one grandson: James J. Tancredo, II. of Carbondale, PA.; Several Nieces Nephews
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Albert, Patrick and Robert Ruddy; one sister: Helen Nakonechni
The funeral was held Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Charles P. Connor, pastor. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Mayfield, PA.
Friends called Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from 7-9 pm. Pallbearers: Frank Ruggiero, Rich Ruggiero, Tom Ruddy, John Ruddy, Glenn Ruddy, Alan Ruddy, Paul Ruddy and Mark Solomon.
