Margaret A. (Carachilo) Moran, age 58, a lifetime resident of Carbondale, PA., died Saturday afternoon, October 11, 2008 at the Mercy Hospice Inpatient Unit, Scranton, PA., after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Jerome T. Moran who died May 27, 1992. Born October 11, 1950 in Carbondale, PA., she is the daughter of Joseph F. Crow Carachilo of Carbondale, PA. and the late Tillie (Matichak) Carachilo. She was a 1968 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale. She worked for 10 years at Cintas Corporation in Olyphant, PA. She enjoyed trips to Lake George, NASCAR, and had a great love for hummingbirds. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Marian Community Hospital and Mercy Hospice for the support and wonderful care Margaret received during her illness. She is survived by one son: James Moran and fiance Ann Farrell of Carbondale, PA.; one sister: Linda Garavuso and husband Robert of West Clifford, PA.; two brothers: Joseph Carachilo and wife Mary Ellen and Francis Carachilo, all of Carbondale, PA.; three grandchildren: Mary Wagner, Justin and Nathan Moran; companion: Randy Reynolds of Carbondale, PA.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral was held Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at 8:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Jack Matichak, Paul, John, Thomas, David and Anthony Carachilo. Friends called Tuesday, October 14, 2008, from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the American Cancer Society.
