Margaret Kelsch, age 87, a resident of the Carbondale Nursing Home and formerly of Hickory Street, Carbondale, PA., died Saturday morning, November 5, 2011 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. Born July 29, 1924 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Gebarth and Kathleen (Toolan) Kelsch. She was a 1942 graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and had been employed by Gentex Corporation in Carbondale and Simpson for over 50 years before her retirement. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and enjoyed traveling with her friends and spending time with her family. The family would like to thank the staff at the Carbondale Nursing Home for their compassionate care to Margaret during her stay. She is survived by one niece: Carolyn Kelsch of Waymart, PA.; two nephews: Thomas and John Kelsch, both of West Chester, PA.; twelve great nieces and nephews; seven great great nieces and nephews; two cousins: Peg Passiment of Carbondale, PA. and Bill Kelsch of Mays Landing, NJ. She was preceded in death by one brother: James Kelsch, Sr.; one nephew: James Kelsch, Jr. The funeral was held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 10:15 AM from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Monsignor David L. Tressler, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: James Valesky, Lee Greenburg, Jeff Kelsch, Zack Kelsch, Joe Passiment and Steve Durkin. Friends called Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 9:15 to10:15 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were sent to the donor's choice.
