Marcella K. Thomas,79, of Waymart, PA., died Wednesday morning, September 10, 2014 at the Creekside Health and Rehab Center, Carbondale, PA. She was the wife of Mark J. Thomas, who died on December 24, 2001. Born September 5, 1935 in Jermyn, PA, she was the daughter of the late John K. and Lottie Podleswski Rydzik. Marcella was a graduate of Archbald High School and worked many years for Scottie Electronics, Eynon, PA. She also was a nurse's aide working privately in family homes. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Waymart and was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She is survived by one son: Mark Thomas and wife Eileen of Waymart, PA; one granddaughter: Tina Marie Thomas of Waymart, PA; two brothers: Joseph and Peter Rydzik, both of Simpson, PA; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and John Rydzik. A private Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM from St. Mary's Church, Waymart, PA., celebrated by Rev. Joseph Sitko, pastor. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Michael Mullally, Dr. Martin Bifano, DDS., Martin Bifano, Jr., Jason, Jude, Paul and Joseph Rydzik. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
