Manfred J. Lennartz, 65, of Olyphant, PA, died Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Commonwealth Hospice, Scranton, PA. His wife is the former Danielle Fernande Andrea Bourgeois.
Born in Dachau, Germany, he was the son of the late Johann Wilhelm and Josephine Kopp Lennartz.
He had been a self employed auto mechanic where he operated a garage in Olyphant. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, riding his jet ski and quad. He was fond on Ford muscle cars, especially Mustangs and Thunderbirds. True to his heritage he loved a good German beer especially while playing shuffleboard. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by three children: Sabine Yantorn of Olyphant, PA, Nancy Pennay of Peckville, PA and Frederick Lennartz of Simpson, PA; 3 grandchildren; three sisters: Josephine Lennartz Silvey of Trap Hill, NC, Christa Lennartz Burke of Clarks Summit, PA, Gerlinde Lennartz Hepplewhite of Montdale, PA; his twin brother: Werner Lennartz of Vailly-Sur-Aisne, France; several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 8:00 PM from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA, with Rev. John Hardmann-Zimmerman, officiating. Cremation followed. Friends called Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 5-8 p.m.
