Obituary

Madolyn Truman, R.N., 94, of Carbondale, PA, died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA, where she had resided for the past several years. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis J. Truman, who died on September 12, 1988. Born in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Flaherty Neutts. Madolyn was a 1942 graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Carbondale and did post graduate studies at Marywood College in Scranton. She had been affiliated with St. Joseph's and Marian Community Hospital in Carbondale for 70 years as a student, registered nurse and a volunteer with its women's auxiliary. Madolyn was a member of Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Red Hat Society, St. Rose of Lima Church and its Altar and Rosary Society, Carbondale. The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Davis and his staff as well as, the staff of both the Forest City Personal Care and Nursing Center for the kind and compassionate care given to Madolyn over the past several years. She is survived by a son: Frank Truman and wife Sharon of Carbondale, PA; a daughter: Mary Comaratta of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren: Dr. Lori Truman-Kraft, Amy Lisson, Len Comaratta and Christine Graves; nine great grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel and Sophia Kraft, Nicholas, Emma and Caroline Lisson, Anthony and Michael Graves and Matthew Comaratta; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Julia Healey and Mary Neutts; a brother: Miles Neutts, a son in law: Lt. Col. Leonard Comaratta, Ret. USMC. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Andrew Kurovsky, assistant pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Edward A Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., of Carbondale assisted the Truman family with arrangements.
