Madlyn Decker, 99, of Carbondale, PA, died Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Allied Hospice, Wilkes Barre, PA, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley W. Decker, Jr., on July 27, 1999. Born December 8, 1922 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Agnes Mannion Morcom. Madlyn retired from Carbondale General Hospital and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She enjoyed sitting on her porch watching birds, going out to eat, spending time with friends and family, cooking Sunday dinners and watching the Polka's. She especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter: Linda Hannon of Dallas, PA; five grandchildren: Heather Christiano and husband, Scott of Avoca, PA, with whom she recently resided with, Lance Penzone, Tami Rosar and husband, Billy Wormuth of Carbondale, PA, Chad Rosar and wife, Joanna of Jefferson Township, PA, and Kimberly Elizabeth Calandi and husband, Joe of Archbald, PA; five great grandchildren: Mario, Rayan, Summer, Benjamin and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Sharon Rosar; a son: Thomas Decker; five sisters: Rita Ford, Elizabeth Bradley, Nan Wasman, Mae Draper and Mildred Kulick; and two brothers: William and Frank Morcom. The funeral was held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Seth Wasnak, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Mario Christiano, Chad Rosar, Ryan Wormuth, Thomas Wasman, Jeff Morcom and Robert Morcom.
