Mabel A. Barlow, 79, of Union Dale, PA., died Tuesday morning, October 22, 2013 at the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA., where she had been a guest since March. She is survived by her husband Dimock E. Barlow. They were married on September 1, 1951. Born December 4, 1933 in Waverly, PA., she was the daughter of the late Merenas and Adelia Bayliss Miller. She and her husband owned and operated Barlow's Farm in Union Dale, PA. Mabel enjoyed spending time outdoors especially with her animals. A proud mother and grandmother, she loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Forest City Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care given to Mabel during her illness. She is survived by three children: Bruce Barlow of Union Dale, PA., Susie Barlow McLaud of Clifford, PA. and Sharon Holdridge of South Gibson, PA.; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one sister: Nettie Brockway of Greenbelt, MD.; one brother: Cassie Miller; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. The funeral was held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with Pastor Lynn Tompkins, officiating. Interment, South Gibson Cemetery, South Gibson, PA. Pallbearers: Donald Holdridge, Lynn McLaud, Chase McLaud, Dustin Barlow, Brandon Barlow and Bruce Barlow - all grandsons.
