Lucy V. Smith, 77, of Carbondale, PA, died Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. She was widowed from the late Ronald P. Smith, who died June 21, 2013.

She was a two-time cancer survivor and her greatest joy was being a homemaker to her husband and son.
Lucy loved lighthouses, bells and watching North Carolina and Duke college basketball.
"I keep thinking of Thanksgiving long ago and to paraphrase the Bible, all are welcomed at his table, perfectly describe Aunt Lu. Everyone was welcomed at her table. She gave to all, family, friends and church and it was never about her but her care for everyone was genuine."
The family would like to thank the staff at Geisinger CMC ICU unit and the paramedics at Cottage Hose Ambulance for their kind and compassionate care to Lucy.
She is survived by her devoted son, caretaker and best friend: Stephan Smith, at home; one sister: Mary Alice Remus and husband Joseph of Forest City, PA; two brothers: Joseph Graytock and wife, Joan of Endicott, NY and Francis Graytock and wife, Sharon of Union Dale, PA; two sisters-in-law: Debby Andidora and husband, Jim of Greenfield Township, PA and Jerilynn Regal and husband, Peter of Simpson, PA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
