Lucy Craparo, 96, of Carbondale, PA, passed peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Carbondale Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Craparo on October 4, 1980. Born December 16, 1925 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Angello and Sarah Baglia Blandina. Lucy was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, class of 1943, Carbondale. She worked in the garment industry where she was a floor supervisor at Cindy Frocks in Carbondale. Her legacy will be her Italian cooking, baking and her willingness to help others. She was everyone's Aunt Lou. The family would like to thank the many dedicated health care providers including the staff of Life Geisinger, Mountain View Care Center and the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by two children: Dr. Thomas J. Craparo and wife, Sandra and Nancy Bellucci and husband, William both of Carbondale, PA; one sister: Mary "Snooky" Cerra of Carbondale, PA; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Carmella Talarico. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by the Rev. Joseph J. Mosley, pastor of St. Peter Church, Wellsboro, PA. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Thomas Craparo, James Brannon, John Gleich, Silvio Talarico, Charles Salerno and John Grecco. A viewing was held Monday morning, March 28, 2022 from 10:00 - 11:15 a.m. at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
