Louise A. Cummings, 77, of Waymart, PA., formerly of 8th Avenue, Carbondale, PA., died Tuesday night, February 14, 2012 at Northeastern Pennsylvania Hospice, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of Harold W. Cummings. They were married on November 8, 1958. Born December 13, 1934 in South Canaan, PA., she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Bossick Robinson. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. For many years she ran the food stand at Russell Park for the Carbondale Little League. Being a breast cancer survivor she was active with many area cancer survivor programs. She is survived by four sons: John Cummings of Waymart, PA., Paul Cummings of Carbondale, PA., James Cummings of South Canaan, PA. and Craig Cummings of Wilkes-Barre, PA.; six grandchildren: John, Stacey, Samantha, Sharlene, Jared and Shauna Cummings; three brothers: Tom Robinson of Waymart, PA., Francis Jim Robinson of Prompton, PA. and Richard Robinson of Carbondale, PA.; three sisters: Marie Dragwa of Simpson, PA., Jane Ovens of Jefferson Twp., PA. and Bessie Palmer of Union Dale, PA. several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son: Harold Cummings; two brothers: Clarence and David Robinson. The funeral was held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Michael's Church, 46 Midland Street, Simpson, PA., celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA. Pallbearers: John Cummings, Jr., Jared Cummings, Tim Toolan, Richard Robinson, Rob Karmonick and Carl Wigfall. Friends called Friday, February 17, 2012 from 2-4 7-9 PM.
