Louis R. Mazzocchi age 58, of RR#3, Uniondale died unexpectedly Monday morning, January 13, 2003 upon arrival at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna. His wife is the former Marlene Fresse.
Born in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Louis J. Mazzocchi, Susquehanna and the late Mary Lynn (Koronas) Mazzocchi.
He was a member of St. Martin of Tours Church, Jackson, PA. For the past 6 years he has been employed as a mechanic at Express Lift in Scranton, PA. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a prior resident of Brooklyn, New York and has resided in the area for the past 20 years.
He was an avid hunter and loved living in the country.
He is survived by one daughter: Delcie Mazzocchi of Uniondale, PA.; three sons: Edward Mazzocchi of Forest City, PA., Louis Mazzocchi of Old Forge, PA. and Joseph Mazzocchi of South Carolina.; three sisters: Paula Bonamassa of New Jersey, Kathleen Blumfeld and Katrina Pope both of Georgia.; 8 Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Ann
The funeral was held Saturday, January 18, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford with mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Martin of Tours Church, Jackson, celebrated by the Rev. John OBell, pastor. Interment, Gelatt Cemetery, Gelatt, PA.
Pallbearers: Louis, Edward, and Joseph Mazzocchi (son's), Steven Bonamassa, Vincent Nicoletti and Randy Zimmerman
A viewing was held Thursday, January 16, 2003 from 7-9 and Friday, January 17, 2003 from 2-4 7-9
