Lorraine Daria Rainy Valentine, 47, of Union Dale, PA, died Sunday evening, April 13, 2014 at home. Born May 5, 1966 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of Frank C. Valentine of Union Dale and the late Ann Louise Prybicien Valentine. She was a member of St. Pius X Church, Royal, PA and had formerly worked at Specialty Records in Olyphant, PA. She was a dedicated advocate for animals and she spent 10 years as a veterinarian technician at the puppy farm. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt who loved the outdoors, going to the beach, attending concerts and spending the summers with her nieces. She is survived by one sister: Barby Valentine-Tatarka and husband Scott; two nieces: Breann and Heather Tatarka; one great nephew: Collin Tatarka all of Cooper City, FL. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Holly Smith; one sister: Diane Valentine; a brother-in-law: Randy Kilmer. The funeral was held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 9:30 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, Route 106, Royal, PA, celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Scott Tatarka, Ricky Denike, Joseph Valentine, John Valentine, Jason Legg and Gary Vanvleck. Friends called Monday, April 21, 2014 from 4-8 PM.
