Lorraine Kennedy, 67, of Carbondale, PA., died Sunday morning, August 19, 2007 in the hospice unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of Donald D. Kennedy. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on October 26, 2006. Born January 1, 1940 in Simpson, PA., she was the daughter of the late Feston Owens and the late Mary Fehlong Lasik Owens. She is survived by two sons: Donald Feston Kennedy and wife Deborah of Carbondale, PA. and Mark Harold Kennedy, at home; one daughter: Diane Lorraine Noon and husband John of Archbald, PA.; three grandchildren: Nicole Laub, Donald F. Kennedy, Jr. and Della Noon; 5 Great Grandchildren; three half sisters: Evelyn Marciano of Scranton, PA., Rita Parente of Massapequa, NY. and Mary Pound of Flushing, NY.; one half brother: Raymond Lasik of Buffalo, NY. She was preceded in death by one brother: Eugene Owens; one sister: Virginia Burrier; two half sisters: Betty Barcola and Irene Rumbke. A private memorial service for family members was held Wednesday, August 29, 2007 from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. William Campbell, senior priest at St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and the Rev. Joseph Kutch of the Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment, Jermyn Cemetery, Jermyn, PA. Cremation took place from the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
