Lois A. Gumpert, 74, of Dundaff, PA., died Monday night, December 21, 2009 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald Gumpert.
Born November 12, 1935 in New York, NY., she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Vivian (Wallace) Congdon.
She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale. She was also a member of the church's vestry and the Episcopal Church Women. In her younger years, she was a licensed beautician and later stayed home to raise her family. She also enjoyed attending and working the area flea markets.
She is survived by three daughters: Sandra Gumpert of Dundaff, PA., Karen Riccardo and husband James of Carlisle, PA. and Diana Pieski and husband Emil of Hendersonville, NC.; one sister: Jean Landahl of Minneapolis, MN.; one brother: Art Congdon of Clifford, PA.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and William Congdon.
The funeral was held Thursday, December 24, 2009 at 10:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Airport Road and State Route 106, Clifford, PA., with the Rev. Donald Schaible, pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale, officiating. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, PA.
