Lois J. Dombrosky, 88, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, January 18, 2020 at home. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Dombrosky who died January 24, 2008. They were married 59 years. Born August 28, 1931 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Lucy Veril Stevens. Lois worked numerous odd jobs over the years including the local garment industry, but she devoted her life to raising her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, crafts, shopping, watching soap operas and Hallmark movies. She was also an avid game show network fan, enjoyed country music, cutting her lawn (always with a push mower) and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She was known as Mema to everyone and all were welcome into her home. She loved spending time with her family on her favorite holiday Christmas. She is survived by six children: Mark Dombrosky of Carbondale, PA, Lucille Lynady of Las Vegas, NV, Patricia Coyle and life partner, Robert Blake, of Carbondale, PA, Mary Bennett and husband Lynn of Clifford, PA, Margaret Colosimo and husband Richard of Carbondale, PA and Kim Marie Kilmer and husband David of Clifford, PA; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister: Clara Burke of Carbondale, PA; caretaker and friend: Tammy Schmidt (AKA Nurse Ratchet) of Forest City, PA; two sisters-in-law: Karen Dombrosky of Carbondale, PA and Lynda Wargo of Johnson City, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother: Clarence Stevens and two sisters: Louise Jones and Mary Mizianty. The funeral was held Thursday, January 23, 2020, at 10:00 am from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, officiated by Rev. Bonnie Resseguie. Interment, Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Pallberers were her grandson's: Jason and Chad Lynady, Randy and Jessie Weller, Joseph Bennett, James Colosimo and David Kilmer, Jr. Viewing hours were held Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 5-8 pm.
