Obituary

Lisa M. Engroff, 38, of Carbondale, PA, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at her home.

Born in Carbondale, Lisa was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School and received her certification as a licensed practical nurse. She truly loved her job and she epitomized the definition of a nurse, dedicated, compassionate, resilient and caring. Lisa so enjoyed taking care of her patients and would go above and beyond even visiting them after work ended.

Lisa will be fondly remembered for her love of Halloween, her infatuation with scratch off lottery tickets, and being a movie buff. But her greatest role was that of a mom and her three boys were her entire world. Lisa will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Dewey Engroff whom she shared 21 years and was united in marriage on August 8, 2010; her three sons: Lucas, Eli and Liam; her mother and step-father: Mary and Terrance Simmons; her father: Thomas Cyganick; two sisters: Patty Van Tassel and Stacie Walters and husband, Kenneth; two brothers: Jason Cyganick and Thomas Cyganick and wife, Jane; four nieces: Catalina, Emma, Taylor and Savanna; three nephews: Michael, Josha and Thomas; her mother-in-law: Dawn Engroff; two brothers-in-law: Michael Van Tassel and Steven Engroff; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her son: Mason; and her grandparents: John and Amelia Ross and Joseph and Eileen Cyganick.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA.
