Linneal L. Decker, age 87, of Greenfield Township, PA., died Friday morning, April 12, 2013 at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center, Carbondale, PA.
Born June 28, 1925 in Greenfield Township, PA., he was the son of the late Nathan and Viola (Miller) Decker.
He served in the Army during World War II in France and Germany where he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal. He worked as a stone quarry man in local area quarries and also for Walczak Lumber Company, Clifford. He was a member of the Cerra-Leo DAV Post 98, Carbondale and the Shopa-Davey VFW Post 6082, Peckville, PA. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and the Pennsylvania Sheriff's Association.
He is survived by one son: Linneal Decker of Greenfield Township, PA.; one sister: Iyone Decker of Greenfield Township, PA.
He was preceded in death by one daughter: Patty Lee Dombrowski.
A private graveside service with military honors was held at the Scott Valley Cemetery, Montdale, PA.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
