Linda G. Stubaus, 59, of Scranton, PA., died early Sunday morning, April 3, 2011 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late David Bruce Hefner, Sr., who died July 23, 2008.
Born August 15, 1951 in Jersey City, NJ., she was the daughter of the late Leonard, Sr. and Joan (Boken) Owczarski.
She enjoyed camping and knitting. She was a fan of NASCAR, the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.
She was devoted to her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. When she passed away she was surrounded by her entire family.
The family would like to thanks the doctors and staff at Mercy Hospital for the exceptional care provided to Linda during her brief stay.
She is survived by two sons: Raymond Chippa and wife Christine of Scranton, PA. and Michael Chippa of Scranton, PA.; three daughters: Joni Arcaro and husband Frank of Taylor, PA., Lynda Stubaus of Taylor, PA. and Jennifer Bannon and husband Vito of Scranton, PA.; 13 grandchildren: Andrea Howells, Marc, Robert and Kelly Chippa, Amber and Olivia Arcaro, Michael B. Chippa, Jr., Alexandria Chippa, Samantha Angeli, Alexander and Courtney Stubaus, Mia and Vito Bannon; three sisters: Josephine Stubaus Ebersole of Jermyn, PA., Deborah Emmet of Carbondale, PA. and Patricia Van Axen of Brooklyn, NY.; five nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son: Robert Chico Owczarski; one sister: Carol Bannon; one brother: Leonard Owczarski, Jr.
A blessing service was held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA., with Rev. William D. Campbell, senior priest at St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, officiating. Interment, Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: Michael Chippa, Raymond Chippa, Vito Bannon, Marc Garafano, Ken Jones, John Van Axen, Joseph Marder and Albert Lee.
Friends called Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 2-4 7-9 PM and Friday, April 8, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
