Lillian "Corky" Bomba, 85, formerly of Clifford Township, PA, died Monday at Allied Services Hospice, Scranton, PA, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Bomba, who died February 13, 2019.

Born May 27, 1937 in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Elizabeth "Betty" Fletcher Dennis.

Corky had a strong work ethic and over the years she had a vast career from working as a technician in various factories to an aid in a nursing home. She was extremely generous to everyone she met and her family will fondly remember her as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. As a woman of faith, she was a member of the Evangelical Free Bible Church in South Abington Township.

In her youth, she will be remembered as one of the first females in the country to play on a boy's Little League Baseball team. She was a no hitter pitcher for the Scott Township Little League team.

She is survived by two sons: Joseph Fenwick and wife, Dianna of South Abington Township, PA, Edward Fenwick and wife, Cheryl of Gouldsboro, PA; one daughter: Elizabeth Von Storch and husband, Timothy of Scott Township, PA; one step-son: Frank Bomba of Scranton, PA; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: John Fletcher and Willard Creed Dennis; and a sister: Esther "Bonzo" Frazier.

The funeral was held Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with Pastor Mike Measley, officiating. Interment, Scott Valley Cemetery, Montdale, PA.

Pallbearers: Joseph Fenwick, Timothy Von Storch, Cortland Glen, Carlisle Glen, Robert Tuttle and Austin Tuttle.

A viewing was held Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 6-8 p.m.
