Leroy C. "Skip" Cottrell, Jr., 74, of Jackson Township, PA, died Friday, December 15, 2023 at home after an illness. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Jean Muzzy Cottrell in 1999 and his second wife, Marsha Kozloski Cottrell on May 7th.

Born July 11, 1949 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Leroy and Florence Reynolds Cottrell. Skip was a graduate of Mountain View High School and proudly served ten years in the U.S. Air Force. Upon discharge from the military, he worked as a mail carrier for the Forest City Post Office. Skip also served as a Pennsylvania State Constable and operated his own sports shop for many years.

Along with his father he volunteered with the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company and was a member of the Mount Hermon Masonic Lodge #472 where he served as Past Master. Skip was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his family tremendously and was known for his sense of humor, love for his country, kindness and generosity. His legacy lives on in the countless lives that he touched.

He is survived by two children: Kenneth Cottrell and wife, Vicki of Chadds Ford, PA and Kimberly Gerrity and husband, Robert of Dalton, PA; grandchildren: Hunter, Kendel, Matthew, Jamison; two sisters: Donna Harding and husband, William of Clifford, PA and Lori Cook and husband, Paul of Clearwater, FL, and several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Lisa Jumper and husband, John of Jackson Township who were loving caregivers and granddaughters, Aurora and Annaleese.

The funeral was held Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Rev. Gary Haskell, Sr., pastor of the Jackson Baptist Church, officiating. Interment, Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Pallbearers: Kenneth Cottrell, Robert Gerrity, John Jumper, Randy Jumper, Christopher Rosler and Cody Vincent.

A Masonic service was conducted on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a viewing from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
