Obituary

Lee A. Wilbur, Sr., age 92, of Kingsley, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2003. His loving wife for 60 years is Harriet Carpenter Wilbur. Born April 25, 1910 in Scranton, PA. He was the son of the late Irving and Lelah (Pratt) Wilbur. Lee was a Veteran of World War II. He enlisted in 1940 for one year. Then, in 1941 war broke out and he served until 1945 in the Army Airforce Station at Camp Davis, North Carolina. He rose to the rank of Buck Sergeant. After the war, he returned to Kingsley, PA, where he worked in flagstone quarries until he retired in 1990 at the age of 80. He was a member of the West Lenox Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Trustee, Treasurer, and Sunday School Superintendant and Teacher. Lee was the first President of the Pennsylvania Bluestone Association in the late 1960s. He is survived by Son and Daughter-in-Law: Lee and Sharon Wilbur of Kingsley, PA.; Daughter and Son-in-Law: Evelyn and Darwin Chapman of Wilmore, KY.; Daughter and Son-in-Law: Janice and Bill Reynolds of Statesboro, GA.; Grandsons: Kevin Wilbur of Brooklyn, PA., Keith Wilbur of Kingsley, PA., Jeffrey Wilbur and wife Tara of Montrose, PA., Peter Chapman of Wilmore, KY. and Matthew Reynolds of Statesboro, GA.; Granddaughters: Linda Chapman of Wilmore, KY., Lisa Chapman of Georgetown, KY. and Laura Parke and husband Chris of Richmond, KY.; Great Grandson: Kyle Wilbur of Brooklyn, PA. The funeral was held Thursday, February 13, 2003, at 11:00 am in the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, with Rev. Lee Mead, pastor of the West Lenox Baptist Church, officiating. Interment, Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford. A viewing was held Wednesday, February 12, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9.
