Lawrence E. Barber, age 76, of Lenoxville, PA., died Sunday morning, December 17, 2006 at the Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA., after a short illness. His wife is the former Ruth Marsden. Born September 7, 1930 in Scranton, PA., he was the son of the late Earl and Bertha (Jones) Barber. He was a member of the Lenoxville United Methodist Church, Lenoxville and was a graduate of the Nicholson High School, Nicholson, PA. He was a self-empolyed truck driver for 40 years and was an avid hunter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by two sons: David Barber of Florida and James Barber of Clifford, PA.; four daughters: Susan Rosengrant of Factoryville, PA., Loretta Turner, Jane Goggins Debbie Klein all of Florida; four step sons: Martin Stephen Carpenter both of Clifford, PA., Harrison Carpenter of Carbondale, PA. and Phillip Carpenter of Honesdale, PA.; one sister: Evelyn Biddle of Lansdale, PA.; 17 Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews. The funeral was held Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 1:00 PM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, with services by Pastor Peg Knapich, of the Lenoxville United Methodist Church. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford. Friends called Tuesday, December 19, 2006 from 2-4 7-9 PM. Pallbearers: James Barber, Ray Compton, Gary Ahouse, David Peck, Martin and Steve Carpenter.
