Laura M. Liuzzo age 81, of 81 Orchard Street, Carbondale died Sunday afternoon, May 5, 2002 at home following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Samuel C. Liuzzo who died January 14, 1995.
Born February 6, 1921 in Carbondale, PA. She was the daughter of the late David and Ida (Goldman) Balaban.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School Class of 1939. She was an honary member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary Unit 274, Gouldsboro.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and will be greatly missed. She loved her dog Peanut.
She is survived by two daughters: Saundra M. Liuzzo of Hartford, CT. and Mary Carole Roche of Carbondale, PA.; two sons: Thomas H. Liuzzo of Gouldsboro, PA. and Jeffrey B. Liuzzo of Greenfield Twp., PA.; two sisters: Betty Lenk and Celia Feingold both of Del Ray Beach, FL.; one brother: Maxwell Balaban of Lynbrook, NY.; 10 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandcildren; Several Nieces Nephews
She was receded in death by a son, Samuel D. Liuzzo
The funeral was held Thursday, May 9, 2002 at 10:30 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc. Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale with mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Falbrook Street, Carbondale celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor. Interment, Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
Viewing was held Wednesday, May 8, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9.
