Kevin J. Benedict, 56, of Nicholson, PA, died Friday, May 12, 2017 at home. He was the husband of the late Debbie Kilmer Benedict. Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late George Benedict and Margaret Luczak Benedict Liples. Kevin was raised in the Nicholson area with his mother and step father, the late Robert Liples. He was employed as a machinist for ICON, Inc., Lake Winola, PA. Kevin was an avid weight lifter, motorcycle enthusiast, and had a deep love for the outdoors and animals. He loved taking walks with their dog, Kanani and grandson, Caderyn. Kevin took pride in being a positive and masculine role model for his grandson. He is survived by one son: Brandon Benedict and wife Hazel of Secane, PA; one grandson: Caderyn Rosal Benedict; two sisters: Jean Clark of Tunkhannock, PA and MariGrace Benedict of Factoryville, PA; three brothers: Robert Liples of Clarks Summit, PA, Jeff Benedict of West Nicholson, PA and David Benedict of Nicholson, PA; several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, officiated by Pastor Thomas Cusack.
