Kenneth W. Light, age 65, of Clifford Township, PA., died Saturday evening, May 26, 2012, at home following a courageous battle with cancer. His wife of almost 39 years is the former Marilyn Sparks. They were married July 7, 1973. Born March 22, 1947 in Lamesa, TX, he was the son of the late Lon Light, Jr. and the late Bobbie (Webb) Simco. Despite living in PA for over 35 years, Ken was true to his Texas heritage, proudly displaying his love for the Dallas Cowboys. After college, Ken enlisted and served in the United States Air Force. He worked for over 25 years at Quality Perforating Incorporated, Carbondale where he was a perforated steel operator. Ken took great pride in his work with precision cutting and always doing it right the first time. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed his many projects at home. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by three daughters: Kendra Alaishuski and husband Geoff of Audubon, PA., Krista Oswalt and husband Eric of Gilbert, AZ. and Karla Micklo and husband Frank of Succasunna, NJ.; one sister: Lynette Morrow of Tempe, AZ.; five grandchildren: Paige and Nora Alaishuski; Alaina and Kelsey Oswalt and Nathan Micklo; one step sister: Gay Pigg of Texas; one step brother: Rick Simco of Texas; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: Mike Light. A public viewing was held Thursday, May 31, 2012, from 4-7 PM at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA. A private family memorial service was held Friday, June 1, 2012 at the funeral home.
