Kenneth E. Daniels, 67, of Carbondale, PA, and formerly of Montdale, PA and Binghamton, NY, died Sunday night, September 14, 2014 at Creekside Health and Rehab Center, Carbondale. He was the husband of the former Tina Rezmerski.
Born October 28, 1946 in Binghamton, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Griffiths Daniels.
He was a graduate of Binghamton North High School and was a Vietnam War veteran having served in the Air Force as a Sergeant with his primary duty being a weather observer. He was a retired self employed painter and worked as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company and in the maintenance department at the I-81 rest area in Fleetville, PA. He was of the catholic faith and was a life member of the Clarks Summit VFW Post 7069. Tina would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Creekside Health and Rehab, Southern Care Hospice and Geisinger-CMC for their compassionate care to Ken during his illness. Special thanks are given to Tina's employer, Dr. V. Dhaduk for all his kindness. Tina is grateful to all of her neighbors and friends at the Ben Franklin Apartments for their help, love, and well wishes, especially Harriet Snow and Richard Diffley.
He is survived by one daughter: Dr. Angel Daniels, PhD of Washington, DC; one step son: Eric Himko of Charlotte, NC; longtime friend: Joy Henderson and her family of Johnson City, NY. He was preceded in death by one brother: David Tobin. The funeral was held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:30 AM from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale. Cremation followed.
Military honors were provided by the Clarks Summit VFW Post 7069 and the Simpson VFW Post 4712 Honor Guard. Friends called Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:30 AM.
