Kathryn Satunas, 84, of Clifford Township, PA., died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at home after a sudden illness. She was the wife of the late Paul Satunas, who died March 10, 1988.
Born October 29, 1925 in South Gibson, PA., she was the daughter of the late Wasil and Dora (Kozlowska) Rudick.
She was a former member of the former St. Anthony's Church in Forest City, PA. She was a homemaker and assisted her family in the operation of their dairy farm.
She enjoyed painting pictures and entering them into contests at the Harford Fair as well as growing vegetables in her garden. She also enjoyed her visits to the Lenoxville Senior Center where she was a member. She will be missed by her family especially her grandchildren whom she cherished.
She is survived by one son: Paul Satunas and wife Susan of Clifford Township, PA.; one daughter: Catherine (Patty) Spadine and husband Lawrence of Nicholson, PA.; two sisters: Mary Allen of Lenoxville, PA. and Stella Miller of Tacoma, WA.; one brother: Sam Rudick of Acre Lake, PA.; seven grandchildren: Stephanie, Michael, Stephen and Gary Satunas, Patty Ann, Donna and Gina Spadine; one great granddaughter: Katylin Satunas; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Anna Shaika and Ina Brong; three brothers: Michael, John and Harry Rudick.
The funeral was held Monday, September 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 741 Delaware Street, Forest City, celebrated by Rev. Patrick Albert, pastor. Interment, St. Anthony's Cemetery, Forest City.
Pallbearers: Steven Buck, Richard Williams, Richard Peterka, John Peterka, Scott Obelenus and Anthony Obelenus.
