Kathryn W. Mroczka, 94, of Jermyn, PA, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. Her husband of 62 years, Matthew C. Mroczka died on September 4, 2008. Born June 1, 1921 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Kate Whiting Park. She was a retired seamstress having worked at Jo Ann Frocks in Mayfield, PA. Kathryn was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Parish, Jermyn and was president for three years of the Altar and Rosary Society at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Mayfield, before its closing. She was also a member of the Green Grove Grange, Montdale, PA and the Over 50 Club, Mayfield. She enjoyed playing cards, especially with her nieces, Emily and Barbara. The family would like to thank Home Health and the Carbondale Family Health Center, especially Kenny Bannon for the kind and compassionate care given to Kathryn. She is survived by two sons: Matthew T. Mroczka and wife Patty and John Mroczka, Sr. and wife Lori all of Jermyn, PA; two daughters: Shirley Harris of Vandling, PA and Janet Bradley and companion James Lynch of Jermyn, PA; 11 grandchildren: Linda Evans and husband Randy, David Chichura, Matthew Mroczka, III, Donald Surace and wife Kim, Andrew Mroczka and companion Samantha, Michael Mroczka, Meghan Mroczka, John Mroczka, Jr., Katrina Alvarado and companion Jack, Robert Bradley, USN and Janelle Bradley; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson: Nicholas Chichura, III.; one great granddaughter: Julia Chichura; four brothers: James Park, William, Robert and Joseph Parks; four sisters: Ellen Chadwick, Dorothy Corrigan, Elsie and Emma Park. The funeral was held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. form the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, 622 Madison Avenue, Jermyn, celebrated by Rev.
