Kathryn McGurrin Burdick, 63, of South Gibson, PA, died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA, after an illness. She is survived be her husband, Lloyd J. Burdick. They were married on February 9, 1979. Born February 25, 1955 in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leo "Cobb" McGurrin and Irene Lloyd McGurrin. Kathryn was a graduate of Mountain View High School, Kingsley, PA, and received degree's from Keystone College, Edinboro University and Wilkes University. She spent her career in the medical field as a medical technologist having specialized in quality assurance and quality management for Barnes Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA. Kathryn was a member of the South Gibson United Methodist Church and volunteered at Picacho Peak State Park in Arizona and for Laura's Hope Rescue, Hop Bottom, PA. The two greatest loves of her life were spending time in Arizona and her dogs. She is also survived by a brother: Lee McGurrin of Forest City, PA; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Kelsey, a brother: Raymond "Spike" McGurrin; and a sister: Jane Shust. The funeral was held Monday, January 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, officiated by Pastor Margie McCarty. Interment, South Gibson Cemetery, South Gibson, PA. Friends called Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. and Monday, January 28, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
