Katherine M. Collura, age 83, a resident of the Carbondale Nursing Home, Carbondale, PA. and formerly of Jermyn, PA., died Saturday morning, January 14, 2006 at the nursing home. She was the wife of the late Charles Collura who died April 11, 1981.
Born August 1, 1922 in Honesdale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Arnold Clemo.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale and was a graduate of Honesdale High School. She was the president of R C Excavating Company in Jermyn for many years. She loved and took great pride in running the family business.
She was a loving grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family.
She is survived by one grandson: Charles wife Jennifer Collura of Peckville, PA.; two granddaughters: Katherine husband Carl Witkowski of Shavertown, PA. and Mary Collura of Philadelphia, PA.; four great grandchildren: Rossalynn, Isabella, Annabelle Juliette; one sister: Alberta MacMullen of Beach Lake, PA.; Several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son: Rosario Ross Collura; one brother: Raymond Clemo; one granddaughter: Rosemarie Collura
The funeral was held Tuesday, January 17, 2005 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Friends called Monday, January 16, 2005 from 6-9 PM.
