Karen S. Dombrosky, 78, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA, due to congestive heart failure.
Born November 13, 1942 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Murtha Dombrosky.
Karen was a 1961 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and worked as a seamstress at P&A Dress Factory, Carbondale, along with other local dress factories. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Gentex Corporation, Simpson.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, craft shows and playing spider solitaire on the computer. She also loved making all of her grandchildren's Halloween outfits and prom dresses.
She is survived by a daughter: Cara Vail of Carbondale, PA; two granddaughters: Manda Doyle and husband, Mike of Greenfield Township, PA and Raunlyn Vail-Penwarden of Jermyn, PA; five great grandchildren: Declan, Liam, Cobin, Landon and Hayley; one sister: Lynda Wargo of Johnson City, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four siblings: Joseph Dombrosky, Mary Bonacci, Thomas Dombrosky and Patricia Murzynsky.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA.
Friends called Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 2-5 p.m.
