Joyce Cooper, 69, a resident of Creekside Healthcare Center, Carbondale, PA, and formerly of Honesdale, PA, died Friday, November 22, 2019 at the nursing home. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Copper. Born October 23, 1950 in Jersey City, NJ, she is the daughter of Marie Schmitt Kishma and the late George Moriarty. Joyce was a native of New Jersey and had been employed as a billing specialist in the healthcare industry. She was a survivor of the 9-11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York City. She is survived by two children: William Cooper of Honesdale, PA and Jamie Baxter of Bushkill, PA; 3 grandchildren; two sisters: Marie Turek and Debbie Baxter; one brother: William Moriarty; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother: George Moriarty. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
