Josephine A. Turant, age 82, of Wapwallopen, PA. and formerly of Pittston Township, PA., died early Saturday morning, June13, 2009 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was the wife of the late John F. Turant, Sr. who died October 7, 2005. Born November 12, 1926 in Pittston Township, PA., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Frushon) Lyback.She was a graduate of Pittston Township High School and a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Mountain Top, PA. She was a Data Entry Supervisor and worked for several companies in Long Island, NY. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking and was known as Nana to many. She is survived by one daughter: Deborah Ludden; one son: John Turant, Jr.; four grandchildren: Paul, Jeremy, Joshua and Corey Ludden; one sister: Linda Lybeck; nana to: Bernie, Leah and Braeden Lincoski and Kim, Christopher and Cameron Coley.She was preceded in death by three sisters: Theresa Mae, Dora Hampton and Mary Grace Fleming.A blessing service was held Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Avenue, Exeter, PA. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, PA. Pallbearers: Christopher and Cameron Coley, Paul, Jeremy, Joshua and Corey Ludden. Friends called Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from 5-8 PM.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA.
