Josephine Dodi Haney Skubic, 89, formerly of Forest City, PA and a resident of the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center, Carbondale, PA, died Monday morning, May 12, 2014 at the nursing center. She was the wife of the late Jacob Haney and Rudolph Skubic. Born March 15, 1925 in Forest City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Amelia Tecar Trelc. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. She enjoyed baking, dancing, polkas, crossword puzzles, crocheting and her trips to the casinos in Atlantic City. She will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren whom she loved very much and were the light of her life. The family would like to thank the staff of the Carbondale Nursing Center for the kind and compassionate care given the Dodi during her residency. She is survived by five children: Joyce Carachilo and husband George of Carbondale, PA, Donald Haney and companion Lorraine of Carbondale, PA, Joseph Haney and wife Linda of Forest City, PA, Robert Haney of Waymart, PA, and Barbara Houman and husband Todd of Waymart, PA; a son-in-law: Joseph Dick of Carbondale, PA; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three children: Catherine Kay Dick, Ronald Haney and Edward Dinky Davis; three grandchildren: David Carachilo, Donald Haney, Jr. and Danielle Haney; six siblings: Ann Polensek, Sylvia Benarick, Mary Gordon, William, Paul and Frank Trelc. A blessing service was held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA., with Rev. Joseph Horanzy, officiating. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City, PA. Pallbearers: Anthony Carachilo, Carmen Andidora, Joseph Dick, Brian Blake, Charles White, Christopher Houman, Tadd Haney and Jake Haney. Friends called Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 4-7 PM.
