Josephine DePoti, age 86, of 8 42nd Street, Carbondale, PA. died early Friday morning, March 14, 2003 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She was the wife of John P. DePoti, who died June 15, 1989. Born October 16, 1916 in Reggio, Calabria, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Christina (Chraaglichella) Chinni. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carbondale. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very unselfish and put everybody elses needs before her own. She loved cooking. She is survived by three daughters: Judy DePoti and Maryann DePoti both of Carbondale, PA. and Giovina DePoti of Simpson, PA.; one sister: Jennie Chinni of Carbondale, PA.; one grandson: John DePoti, Simpson, PA. She was preceded in death by one brother: Dominick Chinni The funeral was held Monday, March 17, 2003 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Monsignor Phillip Gray, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Scranton, PA. Interment, Our Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. A viewing was held Saturday, March 15, 2003 and Sunday, March 16, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9. Pallbearers: John DePoti-Grandson, Anthony DePoti, Patrick Vadella, Joseph Falbo, Joseph Cerra, Vince Perri and Chico Balzano.
